Post Acute Rehabilitation

Post-Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Services are defined as short term/time limited inpatient interdisciplinary active interventions for patients who need intensive rehabilitation for restoration of diminished skills after acute stable illness or injury affecting patient’s pre-functional status aiming to maximize self-sufficiency, minimize impact of impairment and regain normal or near normal manner.

Classification of Post-Acute Patients

PAR Patients are classified according to patient condition into three main categories:

Medically stable post-acute illness or injury patient

  • Post Stroke/CVA patient
  • Post Traumatic Brain Injury “TBI” patien
  • Post Spinal Cord Injury “SCI” patient
 

Medically stable post-acute on top of chronic condition

  • Neurological disorders patients
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Motor Neuron Disease
  • Neurodegenerative disease

Medically stable post-surgical operations

  • Pre/Post Joint replacement (e.g. Knee, Hip, Ankle)
  • Shoulder surgery (e.g. Rotator cuff repair)
  • Traumatic Fracture (long bone or spinal – No neurological deficit) following
  • surgical fixation
  • Spinal Surgery (Scoliosis/spondylolisthesis repair, fracture fixation, discectomy)
  • Arthroscopy
  • Traumatic fracture requiring immobilization and traction (Geriatric conservative Management)
  • Limb reconstruction (Fixation with Illizarov, TSF, Arthrodiastasis)

Neuro-Rehabilitation

  • Post Stroke/CVA patient
  • Post Traumatic Brain Injury “TBI” patient

Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation
