Repetitive strain injury is a wide range of hand and wrist injuries due to overuse. Common causes are repetitive motions due to office work, manual labor, and the use of modern technological devices. Common conditions are De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Blackberry Thumb, Ipod Finger cubital tunnel syndrome, radial tunnel syndrome, and ulnar tunnel syndrome. The usual symptoms are aching pulsing pain, tingling, sore wrist, and extremity weakness.
Treatment in the early stages includes the prescription of pain relief medications, rest, and physical and occupational therapy.
