Repetitive Strain Injury

Repetitive strain injury is a wide range of hand and wrist injuries due to overuse. Common causes are repetitive motions due to office work, manual labor and use of modern technological devices. Common conditions are: De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Blackberry Thumb, Ipod Finger cubital tunnel syndrome, radial tunnel syndrome, ulnar tunnel syndrome. The usual symptoms are aching pulsing pain, tingling, sore wrist, extremity weakness. Treatment in the early stages include prescription of pain relief medications, rest, physical and occupational therapy.
